Mailing and Shipping Services Price Change effective January 22, 2017

The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) approved the US Postal Services request for Mailing and Shipping Services price changes, effective January 22, 2017.

Priority Mail Express® increasing - 3.4 percent

Priority Mail® increasing - 3.9 percent

Parcel Select - USPS Parcel Select services will see average price increases as follows:

Destination-entered non-Lightweight Parcel Select increasing - 4.9 percent

Parcel Select Lightweight increasing - 8 percent

Parcel Select Ground increasing - 2.7 percent

Additional Domestic Changes:

Parcel Return Service increasing - 5.5 percent

First-Class™ Package Services increasing - 4.1 percent

Retail Ground™ increasing - 3.8 percent

Premium Forwarding Service® increasing - 3.8 percent

Standard Mail® has been rebranded to USPS Marketing Mail™ The indicia should continue to display current Standard Mail abbreviations. Changes to indicia, shipping labels and mail piece markings/endorsements are not permitted until Jan 2018.

The postage price for one-ounce Metered First-Class™ Letters is dropping from 46.5 cents to 46 cents, while the postage rate for a one-ounce stamped letter is growing from 47 cents to 49 cents. This means small businesses will have a 3-cent savings on metered letters over stamped letters.
